‘In delay there lies no plenty … youth’s a stuff will not endure’

Christmas 1917. As war wages on, those at home in Illyria try to forget and seek distraction. But when refugee twins, Viola and Sebastian, are shipwrecked and separated, they shake up this grief-stricken community, resulting in mistaken identity, folly and love.  Enriched with passion, wit and live music, this is a vibrant, intimate production of Shakespeare’s most delightful and thought-provoking comedy.

★★★★★ ‘Creative genius … a magical production’ (RemoteGoat)

★★★★ ‘Sun and Moon Theatre’s compassionate and intelligent retelling of Twelfth Night delighted a full house … The decision to set it a hundred years ago, with echoes of terrible conflict far, but not far enough, away, is inspired’ (Remote Goat)

★★★★ ‘A stroke of genius’ (Bath Echo)

★★★★ ‘Excellent … the characterisation was spot on’ (Exepose)

★★★★ ‘An abundance of applause at the end of the performance was well deserved – Sun & Moon Theatre company proves how Shakespeare’s comedy can indeed transcend time and space, lighting a way through the tunnel of trying times and drawing us closer’ (Exepose)

‘So good we saw it twice! A life-affirming production’ (Shakespeare Magazine)
