‘The course of true love never did run smooth’

The Sun and the Moon: Shakespeare’s Lovers is a delightful two-hander play exploring love in Shakespeare’s works. Two actors perform Shakespeare’s greatest lovers, alternating roles from Comedies, Tragedies and Histories. Featuring scenes from Shakespeare and live music, love is showcased in its many forms, from the giddiness of first love to bickering denial; from passionate romance to love unrequited; from forbidden unions to love embittered; and finally from love won to love lost. The most universal of human emotions, Shakespeare’s illustrations of love still ring true today. An intimate show full of humour, passion and truth, watch these stories unfold with contemporary eyes and experience ‘the very ecstasy of love’. Whether you are a Shakespeare enthusiast or not this production has something for anyone who has ever been in love.
